Being human or being alive means producing solutions to the inevitable problems in life. A person encounters many difficulties in life from the moment they come into the world. We have two ways of thinking about the difficulties we encounter: either we focus on what the problem is, why it happens, in other words, on its details, or we focus on how the problem can be eliminated and how to cope with it. Which one we focus on is related to our thinking habits. Thinking in the first way makes a person realize the details of the problem, which draws the person more into the problem. Thinking in the second way makes a person realize the solutions to the problem, which mobilizes them for change. As in Frederick Langbridge's words, "The world is as people see it: Of two people looking through the same window, one sees mud; the other sees stars." The short-term solution-focused approach is an approach that focuses on making the client realize what the solutions may be about instead of thinking about the details of the problem. In this book; information about the basic philosophy, principles, working methods, techniques used and different areas of use of the solution-focused counseling approach has been conveyed. In addition, each proposition regarding the approach has been tried to be concretized with case examples. The aim of the book is to contribute to field workers on the one hand and academic studies on the other.
