Fire Engineering

Fire is a natural disaster that has an impact on buildings as serious as an earthquake. Fire engineering is a branch of research that combines fire science, heat transfer, materials science and civil engineering. The mechanical behavior of structures at high temperatures caused by fire is different from traditional building static calculations and the purpose of fire engineering is to reduce the destructive effects of a possible fire on the structure. There are almost no studies in the literature on fire engineering in Türkiye. Today, the importance of fire engineering and the need for well-equipped fire engineers are increasing, and the theoretical information in this book will be an important resource for civil engineers and architects who want to specialize in fire engineering. The calculation methods in the book require undergraduate level knowledge of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, as well as mechanics and statics.
